Terms and conditions
These terms apply when you book a consultation or sessions with Tim Dunton, a sole trader trading as Hypnotherapy.London, or when an organisation engages Tim for workshops or programmes. Please read them before booking. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
1. About the service
Tim offers one-to-one hypnotherapy, NLP and coaching for performance, confidence and calm under pressure, in person at 9 Coldbath Square, Farringdon, London EC1R 5HL and online by Teams or Zoom, together with workshops and programmes for organisations. All sessions are delivered by Tim personally.
2. Free consultation
Before booking, you can have a free consultation of 15 to 30 minutes by phone or video. There is no obligation to book. Tim will tell you honestly if he does not think he is the right person to help.
3. Booking and appointments
- Appointments are confirmed by email once booked and 50% of the fee has been paid in advance.
- Before your first session you may be asked to share some background information, including relevant health information. Please be open: it helps Tim work safely and effectively.
- Please arrive or log in on time. If you are late, the session may need to finish at the planned time, and the full fee will still apply.
- Sessions are not suitable for anyone under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs. Tim may end a session if it would not be safe to continue.
4. Cancelling or rearranging (individual clients)
If you need to cancel or move an appointment, please give at least 48 hours' notice for an in-person session, or 24 hours' notice for an online session, by phone or through the contact page.
- With at least the required notice: you can rearrange or cancel at no charge.
- With less notice, or if you do not attend: a fee of 50% of the session fee is charged. Tim will try to fill the time, and will not charge if he is able to.
- If Tim needs to cancel or rearrange, he will give you as much notice as possible and offer another time, or a full refund of anything paid for that session.
Your right to cancel when you book remotely
If you are booking as a consumer by phone, email or online, you have the legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking without giving a reason, and receive a refund. If you ask for a session to take place within those 14 days and then cancel, you may be asked to pay for any sessions already provided.
5. Fees and payment (individual clients)
- Current fees are shown on the fees page. The fee will be confirmed when you book.
- 50% of the fee is paid in advance when you book, by card or bank transfer, and the other 50% at the end of your first session.
- Card payments are handled by a secure payment provider. Your full card details are not stored by Hypnotherapy.London.
6. Corporate engagements
- Work for organisations is agreed in writing, setting out the scope, format, dates, participants and fee.
- Fees are invoiced to the organisation: 50% upfront when the engagement is agreed, and 50% on completion. Travel and venue costs outside London are charged at cost, by agreement.
- Cancellation and rescheduling of workshops or programmes is by arrangement, as set out in the written agreement for each engagement.
- One-to-one sessions funded by an organisation are confidential between Tim and the participant. The organisation receives only the information agreed in advance, such as attendance and invoicing.
- Materials Tim provides remain his intellectual property and are licensed for use by participants within the organisation only.
7. Online sessions
- Please join from a private, quiet room where you will not be interrupted or overheard.
- Use a stable internet connection and, ideally, headphones. Sit somewhere safe and comfortable.
- Never join a session while driving or doing anything that needs your attention.
- Please have a phone number available so Tim can reach you if the connection drops. If a session is cut short by a technical problem on Tim's side, the remaining time will be rearranged at no charge.
- Sessions are not recorded unless both parties agree beforehand.
8. Recordings and materials
Any recordings or written materials Tim gives you are for your own use. Please do not share, sell or publish them. Never listen to hypnosis recordings while driving, operating machinery or at any other time when you need to be alert.
9. What to expect
Your own commitment plays an important part in the work. Everyone responds differently, so no particular outcome can be promised, and the number of sessions you need will depend on you and your goal. Tim will always discuss your progress openly with you.
10. Confidentiality
What you share in sessions is confidential. The only exceptions are where there is a serious risk of harm to you or others, where a child or vulnerable adult may be at risk, or where the law requires disclosure. Wherever possible, Tim would talk to you first. Please see the privacy policy for how your information is handled.
11. Clients under 18
Clients under 18 are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian, who will be asked to give written consent.
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of the service, please tell Tim as soon as possible on 07923 495558 or through the contact page. He will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it fairly. If you are still not satisfied, you can raise it with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), of which Tim is a member.
13. General
These terms may be updated from time to time; the version that applies is the one in place when you book or when an engagement is agreed. They are governed by the law of England and Wales.
