Executive coaching London: for leaders under pressure
Coaching for senior people whose decisions, presentations and presence carry real weight. Stay clear-headed in the room, and bring your team with you.

I'm Tim Dunton. I coach executives, I'm an NLP Master Practitioner, and I've practised hypnotherapy for over two decades. Executive coaching with me combines the practical work of goals, preparation and feedback with techniques that change how you respond under pressure. That combination is what my clients value: they get the plan and the steadiness to carry it out.
What executive coaching covers
- Presence and gravitas in board meetings, investor calls and town halls
- High-stakes presentations: results, launches, keynotes and media
- Difficult conversations: performance reviews, restructures and negotiations
- Decision-making under pressure without second-guessing
- Stepping up: a new role, a promotion or a first board seat
- Resilience and recovery: sleep, energy and switching off after long weeks
How it works for individual leaders
We begin with a free call, then a first session to define what success looks like and what gets in the way. From there, each session combines coaching conversation with focused rehearsal. Using NLP and hypnosis, you practise the meeting, the speech or the decision in detail while staying calm and composed, until that state becomes your default. You leave every session with actions and a short routine to use beforehand.
Programmes for teams and organisations
For organisations, I design work around a specific goal: a leadership team ahead of a launch, partners preparing to pitch, or a group of managers who present to clients. Formats include one-to-one programmes for several leaders, small-group workshops on presence and composure, and pre-event support in the weeks before a big moment. Every engagement is quoted individually after an initial conversation.
Case study: a global Samsung TV release
Samsung asked me to work with the cast of a worldwide TV release. The aim was simple: to help them approach their roles with fresh eyes and without the tension that can creep into high-profile work. The same methods serve executives facing their own big stage.
Why combine coaching with NLP and hypnotherapy
Most leaders already know what good looks like. What trips them up is the automatic reaction in the moment: the tight throat at the lectern, the defensiveness in a challenging meeting, the mind racing at 3am before a deal. Coaching addresses the plan. NLP and hypnotherapy address those reactions directly, so the plan survives contact with real pressure.
What leaders say changes
Clients typically notice three things. First, they feel steady in rooms that used to rattle them, and others notice it too. Second, they prepare more efficiently, because they no longer need to over-prepare to feel safe. Third, they recover faster after demanding weeks: better sleep, clearer weekends and more energy for the people who matter at home.
A typical engagement
- Weeks 1–2: goals agreed with you (and your sponsor, if employer-funded); baseline of how pressure shows up
- Weeks 3–8: fortnightly sessions combining coaching, NLP and rehearsal in hypnosis around real upcoming events
- Before key moments: a short, focused session timed for the days before a board meeting, results or keynote
- Close: a review of progress and a personal routine you keep using
Coaching for new and first-time leaders
Stepping into a bigger role changes the job overnight. The skills that got you promoted matter less than how you lead a room, delegate and handle scrutiny. Many of my clients come in the first months of a new role, when the pressure is highest and habits are still forming. We use that window to build the presence and routines that will carry you through the next few years.
Working alongside HR and L&D
When an organisation sponsors coaching, I agree objectives with the client and, where appropriate, with their manager or HR partner at the start. Progress is reviewed against those objectives, while the content of sessions stays confidential. That keeps the coaching useful to the business and safe for the individual.
In person in Farringdon, or online
We meet in a private room in EC1, minutes from the City, Clerkenwell and King's Cross, or over Teams or Zoom. Many executives combine the two: in person for the first sessions, online in the run-up to an event or while travelling.
Questions about executive coaching
Is this confidential?
Yes. What we discuss stays between us. For employer-funded programmes, we agree in advance what, if anything, is reported back.
How long is a typical programme?
Most individual programmes are 7 hours, spread over two to three months. Pre-event support can be shorter and more intensive.
Can my company pay?
Yes. I invoice organisations directly, and corporate engagements are quoted after a first conversation.
Do you work with whole teams?
Yes, through small-group workshops or one-to-one programmes for several leaders, designed around a shared goal.
What does it cost?
For individuals, £195 an hour face to face, £150 by video, or a 7-hour programme. Organisations: by quote. See fees.
